Feed Efficiency, Lower Costs
Feed is the largest line in almost every livestock budget, which makes feed conversion the fastest lever on profitability. A change of a few points in FCR moves more money than most other interventions on a site combined.
Our feed-efficiency work targets the gap between what a ration contains on paper and what the animal actually absorbs — a gap that widens with poor enzyme selection, subclinical gut damage, inconsistent dosing and feed that has degraded in storage.
How we close the gap
A zootechnical audit establishes where nutrients are being lost, then the correction is applied to the ration and the husbandry at the same time. Treating only one of the two is what usually makes these projects stall.
- Ration and feed matrix review against current performance
- Enzyme programme matched to raw-material variability
- Nucleotide support through the highest-demand growth phases
- Dosing and mixing accuracy verification on site
- Water quality and intake correction
- Feed storage and degradation control
- Weight, intake and FCR tracking against baseline
Why it works
Better absorption means less feed per kilogram of gain, more uniform batches and fewer animals falling out of the target weight band. Lower nutrient excretion also reduces the ammonia and moisture load in the house, which feeds back into respiratory and litter health.
Every recommendation is benchmarked against the operation's own figures, so the commercial case is visible in the same reports your team already produces.
