A second-generation pleuromutilin antibacterial with bacteriostatic action, suppressing bacterial protein synthesis by binding the peptidyltransferase site on the 50S ribosomal subunit. Rapidly absorbed orally, reaching peak concentrations in the respiratory tract, liver and intestines within an hour and maintaining therapeutic levels for 6-12 hours. Indicated for dysentery, ileitis, colitis, streptococcosis, enzootic pneumonia and severe pneumonias with concurrent infections.

Dosage: 3-10 mg/kg for dysentery/ileitis/colitis, 10-20 mg/kg for pneumonia, 20-22 mg/kg for streptococcosis.
