Tixfly 112.5 mg — Small Breed Cats 1.8–3.1 kg
$19.99
Tixfly for cats is a palatable, chewable tablet for cats weighing 1.8-3.1 kg, delivering 112.5 mg of carbamoyl benzamide phenyl isoxazoline per tablet. The active substance is a systemic insectoacaricide of the isoxazoline class. It blocks ligand-gated chloride channels in the nervous system of ectoparasites (acting as an antagonist of GABA- and glutamate-gated receptors), disrupting nerve impulse transmission and causing paralysis and death of the parasite. After oral dosing it is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract (bioavailability over 85%), binds plasma proteins, and reaches peak plasma concentration within 12-24 hours; slow elimination (half-life up to 15 days) maintains effective concentrations for a prolonged period. It kills fleas within 8 hours and ticks within 12 hours of attachment, which helps break the flea life cycle and reduces the risk of pathogen transmission before parasites can feed to completion. It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides spp.) and ixodid ticks, and it reduces the risk of ear-mite infestation (otodectosis, caused by Otodectes cynotis). The tablet is well accepted as a treat by most cats, and is safe for pregnant and lactating queens and kittens from 8 weeks of age. One tablet gives 90 days of protection against fleas and ticks.
