Tixfly 112.5 mg — Toy Breed Dogs 2–4.5 kg

$34.99

Tixfly is a palatable, chewable tablet for dogs weighing 2-4.5 kg, delivering 112.5 mg of carbamoyl benzamide phenyl isoxazoline per tablet. The active substance is a systemic insectoacaricide of the isoxazoline class. It blocks ligand-gated chloride channels in the nervous system of ectoparasites (acting as an antagonist of GABA- and glutamate-gated receptors), disrupting nerve impulse transmission and causing paralysis and death of the parasite. After oral dosing it is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract (bioavailability over 85%), binds plasma proteins, and reaches peak plasma concentration within 12-24 hours; slow elimination (half-life up to 15 days) maintains effective concentrations for a prolonged period. It kills fleas within 8 hours and ticks within 12 hours of attachment, which helps break the flea life cycle and reduces the risk of pathogen transmission before parasites can feed to completion. It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of infestations by ixodid ticks (Ixodes spp., Dermacentor spp., Rhipicephalus sanguineus), mange and fur mites (Sarcoptes canis, Demodex canis, Cheyletiella yasguri), ear mites (Otodectes cynotis), lice (Linognathus setosus, Trichodectes canis) and fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.), including flea-allergy dermatitis. Regular use also reduces the risk of tick-borne piroplasmosis, anaplasmosis and dirofilariasis, and of flea-borne Dipylidium caninum tapeworm infection. The tablet has an attractive meat flavor that most dogs take as a treat, and is safe for pregnant and lactating bitches and puppies from 8 weeks of age (minimum 2 kg body weight). Sold as a box of 4 tablets covering a full 360-day (12-month) protection cycle; single-tablet, 90-day packs are also available.

A combined antibacterial solution pairing two bacteriostatic antibiotics: florfenicol (amphenicol class), which inhibits protein synthesis by binding the 50S ribosomal subunit, and spectinomycin (aminocyclitol class), which binds the 30S subunit. Acting together they block 70S ribosomal complex formation more effectively than either compound alone, killing susceptible respiratory and enteric bacteria in pigs and poultry.
